Workpackage 2
  • D2.1 Report: Protocols for ex-situ characterisation of membranes
  • The objective of this deliverable report is to define characterisation and test protocols for the assessment of performance, enhanced durability and cost-effective characteristics of the newly developed DMFC membranes.

    D2.1 report
  • D2.2 Report: Protocols for ex-situ characterisation of catalysts
  • The objective of this deliverable is to define characterisation and test protocols for the assessment of relevant properties including catalytic activity and durability characteristics of the newly developed DMFC electrocatalysts. The procedures used as means of verification to assess the achievement of project milestones are identified.

    D2.2 report
  • D2.3 Report: Protocols for MEA characterisation
  • The present deliverable defines characterisation and test protocols for the assessment of performance and durability of MEAs for DMFCs. Steady-state testing conditions and accelerated procedures have been considered to evaluate methanol/catalyst cross-over during normal and prolonged operation, and to assess relevant properties in terms of catalytic activity and durability of the newly developed DMFC electrocatalysts. Specific attention has been devoted to freezing/thawing cycling to assess the achievement of project milestones under specific applications. The procedures used as means of verification to assess the achievement of project milestones are identified.

    D2.3 report
  • D2.4 Report: Protocols for stack characterisation
  • Similar to the MEA testing protocols, the present deliverable defines characterisation and test protocols for the performance and life-time (durability) assessment of DMFC stacks.

    D2.4 report
    Workpackage 3
  • D3.2 Report: Supply of optimised polyphosphonic & sulfonated polysulfone membranes
  • This report describes the properties of membranes developed for the different temperature targets of the project: sulfonated polysulfone in pristine form and containing silica and sulfonated silica; perfluorosulfonic acid membranes modified by molecular phosphonic acids, spectifically targeted for the intermediate temperature range, and phosphoric acid doped membranes that provide an option for DMFC operation with vapour phase methanol of concentration >9 mol/dm3.

    D3.2 report
  • D3.3 Report: Optimised composite membranes
  • This report is an overview of the ex situ and in situ properties of composite membranes including blend membranes based on PFSA, reinforced PFSA and hydrocarbon membranes, and inorganic-organic membranes. It concludes by selecting candidate membranes on which more detailed investigation will be made in the perspective of their application in DMFC at low and high temperatures.

    Workpackage 7
  • D7.1 Report: Implementation of a project website
  • The objective of this deliverable is to provide a DURAMET project website to fulfill project communication and dissemination needs in the direction of the whole scientific community and the public through relevant information.

    D7.1 report
  • D7.2 Report: State of the art on high temperature DMFCs and portable applications DMFCs
  • The objective of this deliverable is to define the current state of the art of direct methanol fuel cells technology as a baseline to assess the progress achieved during the project. This overview deals with both low and high temperature DMFC applications. The most relevant areas for early market applications such as portable power sources and assisted power units are considered.

    D7.2 report
  • D7.3 Report: Survey of dissemination and outreach activities
  • The main objective of the survey of the dissemination and outreach activities is to report all the activities regarding the dissemination plan. This aimed to guarantee proper diffusion of knowledge and project results according to an agreed strategy aimed to secure maximum impact with respect to the Intellectual Property Rights.
This document describes all the dissemination & outreach activities arising from the DURAMET project, during all the project duration. The following dissemination activities are described:
  • Research publications in peer-reviewed journals,
  • Meetings, conferences,
  • Website,
  • Outreach activities
  • Brochure
  • International workshop
  • In total 14 publications have been produced so far, in peer-reviewed scientific journals and 32 presentations (oral or posters) given at international conferences. A complete list of journal publications, oral presentation, poster presentations and other is given.

    D7.3 report
  • D7.5 Report: Plan for further dissemination as well as use of knowledge and results after the end of the project
  • This deliverable provides a plan for further dissemination and for the use of knowledge and results after the end of the project. For the various workpackages, a list of publications that have been planned for the next months is reported. Duramet project web site update and maintenance are discussed. A new brochure including the final project results and prototypes developed in Duramet is planned. The impact of the activities carried out in the project is elucidated. Exploitation of the project results and future cooperation are also discussed.
